June 2007 - Drawing at the Met, Day One

First Day of Class: drawing in the new Greek and Roman sculpture garden.
I like how these first few sketches show how I was floundering, barely making any sense, and finally started to get the swing of things.
(Matt Archambault is a good teacher)

first 2 sketches of a marble torso; rear-view in bkground
front view of Herakles Seated on a Rock
third try, same torso. Plus a first sketch of the lady statue (Aphrodite) next to it.

Aphrodite (heavier black lines are Matt's on top of mine)
where's waldo

backside of Eros; in background
